Achievements during my time included: bringing our accounts receivable from over $500,000 down to $20,000, and played a major role in the creating and launch of an iPad application that tracked Hand Hygiene of hospital staff and visitors. This application has won national awards and is still used today throughout Ohio Hospitals.

Palmetto Pride: Chanda Dicke helps build sense of community

Chances are you’ve already taken advantage of MHSC’s new Employee Directory to let to know your colleagues better. If so, you have Executive Assistant Chanda Dicke to thank, not only for introducing the idea, but also the many hours she devoted to the project.

“Chanda was instrumental in developing and organizing the Employee Directory,” says Chief Operating Officer Dora Wilson, who has heard a great response. “Employees seem to enjoy putting a name with a face and learning more about each other.”

Chanda served as a quality manager with the Ohio Hospital Association before moving to the Lowcountry. She worked at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) for a little more than a year, but in November 2014, found a better fit with Molina, which she was already familiar with from her time in Ohio.

She helped with a similar directory at MUSC, so she already had a template to follow when she suggested putting one together at MHSC earlier this year. The idea is to have a page for each employee with a photo and a mix of personal and professional details. To make that happen, Chanda has collected info from nearly 300 people. “I didn’t give up very easily,” she says.

She’s glad that she saw the project through and says compiling the profiles has also helped her get to know everyone better. “It’s really kind of fun to read some of them” she said.

Chanda continues to work at keeping the directory current. She shared an updated version of the directory by email in July. It is also available for downloading.

Due to a significant employee reduction across the company, Chanda’s position was eliminated.

In her position, Chanda was responsible for supporting me and some of my direct reports administratively, but also was very active in the coordination activities of our employee committee, volunteer time off program and several communication initiatives including a plan wide company directory. Dear Sir or Madam:

I am delighted to have the opportunity to recommend Chanda Dicke for employment. I had the pleasure of working on major Ohio Hospital Association meetings and events over a four year period of time.

Chanda led, planned and executed large and small professional conferences for healthcare executives (hospital administrators and board members) for the Quality Institute of the Ohio Hospital Association. The meetings were attended in numbers of 12 to 1200 and required menu planning, audio visual and technology, coordination of national speakers and travel for same, as well as coordination and supervision of internal and external staff for these events.

The nature of the work was essentially to manage a master calendar of routine recurring monthly, quarterly and annual events in such a way as to pull off total perfection. This was accomplished time and again by Chanda in her position. Due to a restructuring of the organization, this work will likely now be outsourced.

In addition to the duties described above, it was Chanda’s nature to develop strong working relationships with officers and administrative staff, alike. I admired this about her personal work ethic and style.

Chanda is an adept writer, document manager and has an excellent command of necessary I.T. and computer skills to be qualified for most any type of work. She exercises necessary confidentiality, has a broad base of understanding for the business setting and would be an asset to any organization she pursues.
